Appleseed Alpha

Set before the events of Appleseed, the story follows Deunan, a former SWAT officer, and her partner Briareos, a formidable combat cyborg. Together, they navigate the devastated ruins of New York City, seeking shelter in a metropolis ravaged by war. The city is governed by an impeccably dressed yet deeply delusional cyborg mayor who remains utterly convinced that an extraterrestrial invasion is imminent. While Briareos’s exceptional combat capabilities secure them a place within the city’s walls, the urban infrastructure caters almost exclusively to machines, leaving the human couple with little comfort or familiarity. When circumstances eventually force Deunan and Briareos to separate, the mayor’s long-feared apocalyptic scenario begins to manifest into a terrifying reality. Left without her cyborg companion, Deunan finds herself leading a small band of marginalized human survivors. As the looming threat escalates beyond the city's capacity to defend itself, the mayor realizes that this group of outcasts might provide the critical reinforcement he desperately needs. However, survival now hinges on whether these two fundamentally different factions can overcome their deep-seated distrust and unite before the world is lost entirely.
