Kiku-chan finds herself unexpectedly pulled into the world of her school's Manga Research Club. On the surface, joining a new extracurricular group might seem like an exciting opportunity for personal growth and creative exploration. However, Kiku-chan is far from thrilled about her sudden induction into the club. Rather than embracing the experience with enthusiasm, she appears visibly uncomfortable, struggling to find her footing in this unfamiliar environment. Her reluctance suggests that the situation is far more complicated than a simple case of stage fright or social hesitation. The true source of Kiku-chan’s unease lies much closer to home, specifically with her next-door neighbor, Hiyoshi-san. Hiyoshi is wealthy, strikingly attractive, and possesses a remarkably outgoing personality that leaves little room for quiet boundaries. For Kiku-chan, navigating daily life alongside such a vibrant and overwhelming presence proves to be a constant challenge. She simply does not know how to handle Hiyoshi-san’s bold, neighborly demeanor, which seems to effortlessly invade every aspect of her routine. This underlying tension with her charismatic neighbor casts a long shadow over her daily experiences, making her forced involvement in the Manga Research Club feel like yet another unpredictable element in a life already unsettled by Hiyoshi-san’s radiant energy.
