Wata no Kuni Hoshi

Chibi-Neko is a young, abandoned kitten who remains blissfully unaware of her circumstances. Unable to distinguish between felines and humans, she perceives herself as a human girl and firmly believes she will one day fully transform into one. Her life changes when she is discovered and taken in by Tokio, a recent high school graduate grappling with uncertainty after failing his university entrance exams. As they spend time together, Chibi-Neko develops deep feelings for him, nurturing a heartfelt desire to become human so she might one day marry the boy who saved her. However, her innocent dreams are soon challenged by harsh realities. While visiting a park, Chibi-Neko witnesses Tokio sharing an intimate moment with another girl, forcing her to confront the painful truth that his affections lie elsewhere. Compounding her heartbreak are the recurring visits from Raphael, a mysterious male cat who persistently attempts to shatter her illusions. He insists that cats can never become human and must accept their true nature. Torn between her unwavering devotion to Tokio and the undeniable truths presented by Raphael, Chibi-Neko faces a profound emotional crossroads, leaving her future entirely uncertain.
