To Be Hero X

In a world where heroism is not born but bestowed, the power to save humanity hinges entirely on public faith. Trust is no longer an abstract emotion; it has been transformed into a quantifiable metric, displayed as a constantly updating numerical value on the wrist of every individual. When an ordinary person accumulates enough trust points from those around them, they are granted extraordinary superpowers, elevating them to the status of a superhero capable of protecting the world. At the apex of this system stands the ultimate champion known only as X—the singular hero who has earned more public confidence than anyone else alive. Yet, holding this title is far from secure. Because these trust values fluctuate continuously based on the ever-shifting opinions and beliefs of the masses, a hero’s standing can change in an instant. This volatile dynamic ensures that the path to greatness is fraught with uncertainty, turning the pursuit of heroism into a relentless struggle where today's savior could easily become tomorrow's forgotten figure.
