From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman

Beryl Gardinant considers himself nothing more than a modest, aging man running a small sword-fighting dojo in an isolated rural village. Decades ago, he harbored ambitions of achieving greatness as a master swordsman, but those aspirations have long since faded into memory. His quiet life is abruptly upended when a renowned former student arrives with astonishing news: Beryl has been officially appointed as the special instructor for the knights of the Liberion Order. Thrust into an unfamiliar world, Beryl journeys to the capital, where he crosses paths with several of his past pupils. To his bewilderment, these individuals have achieved extraordinary success, rising to become elite knights, a brilliant wizard, and an adventurer who has reached the absolute pinnacle of their guild. Despite their remarkable accomplishments, every single one of them eagerly seeks his continued guidance—a prospect that leaves Beryl entirely baffled, as he firmly believes they have long surpassed any need for his instruction. Now faced with the daunting challenge of fulfilling his prestigious new role, the reluctant instructor must navigate his unexpected responsibilities while searching for even a brief moment of respite from his endlessly devoted students.
