The Dinner Table Detective

Reiko Hosho is a wealthy heiress who leads an unexpected double life as a novice detective. Operating under the supervision of Inspector Kazamatsuri, who also hails from an affluent background, she dedicates her days to investigating crimes and pursuing justice. However, once her professional duties conclude, Reiko seamlessly transitions between worlds, trading her practical pantsuit for elegant evening wear to enjoy refined dinners each night. This carefully maintained balance is frequently tested by the complexities of her casework. When particularly baffling mysteries arise, Reiko finds herself with no choice but to seek assistance from an unlikely own butler, Kageyama. Rather than offering gentle guidance, Kageyama responds with biting sarcasm, mercilessly mocking his employer’s lack of deductive skills. Despite his harsh demeanor, he possesses a remarkable intellect that allows him to effortlessly unravel the very puzzles that leave Reiko stumped. This dynamic creates a compelling conflict at the heart of the series, as the heiress must navigate both challenging criminal investigations and the humbling reality that her trusted servant is far more capable of solving them than she will ever be.
