Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo are bound by an arranged marriage orchestrated by their parents, linking Ranma directly to the prestigious Tendo Dojo. However, their impending union is complicated by a bizarre condition that sets Ranma apart from any ordinary fiancé. During a martial arts training expedition in China, he fell into the cursed springs of Jusenkyo, an accident that permanently altered his physical form. Now, whenever he is splashed with cold water, he instantly transforms into a girl. Only a dousing of hot water can reverse the effect, restoring him to his original male state. This unpredictable affliction turns daily life at the dojo into a constant source of chaos and confusion. Navigating a reluctant engagement is difficult enough, but doing so while shifting between genders adds an entirely new layer of complication to their relationship. As Ranma struggles to manage his unusual curse, he and Akane must contend with the relentless absurdity of their situation.
