Tsukimonogatari: Possession Tale

Marking the beginning of the third and final season of the internationally acclaimed series, Possession Tale returns the narrative perspective to Koyomi Araragi, a high school senior and self-appointed savior. Once a staunch loner who believed that forming friendships would diminish his intensity as a human being, Araragi has since learned that his isolationist philosophy was misguided in ways he never anticipated. Now, however, the crisis at hand is not the perilous fate of one of his cherished female companions—whom he would normally rush to aid with monstrous resilience without a second thought—but rather his own aberrant condition and the prolonged toll it has taken on him. If every action demands a price, and if no person can truly exist alone, Araragi must confront whether the cost of his self-sacrificing bonds is his permanent transformation into something inhuman. Despite the gravity of his situation, our protagonist—a young man whose name means "calendar" yet who keeps none in his room—sees no reason to rush toward the profound mysteries of his superhuman nature. Instead, the journey begins with a surprisingly trivial deconstruction of an alarm clock. Accompanying him through this volume are his younger sisters, a living doll born from a corpse, and her violent mistress, all of whom offer little patience for his endless jokes.
