Natsu no Koshien

Natsuko is a naturally gifted athlete whose passion for baseball comes to an abrupt halt following junior high school. The turning point occurs when she faces a painful rejection from Daichi, the boy she has long admired. Heartbroken and discouraged, she makes the difficult decision to step away from the sport entirely, leaving her athletic talents behind as she moves forward with her life. However, circumstances soon force her past and present to collide. Some time later, Daichi and his baseball team find themselves in a desperate situation. They are scheduled to play a crucial match against a rival team, but they are short one player. Without a full roster, they face the humiliating prospect of forfeiting the game altogether. With no other options available, the team turns to Natsuko, pleading with her to step up and fill the vacant position on the field. Reluctantly agreeing to help them avoid disqualification, Natsuko returns to the diamond for what is supposed to be a single, temporary appearance. Yet, once she takes her place among the players, something shifts. What begins as a brief favor to save Daichi’s team unexpectedly evolves into a deeper commitment, and Natsuko finds herself remaining on the roster far longer than anyone, including herself, ever anticipated.
