THE LAST MAN

The story begins when ninth grader Ai Oomori and his younger brother Seigi, a third grader, discover a mysterious boy lying naked and unconscious in the street. The child possesses no memories of his past and does not even know his own name, behaving with the innocence and helplessness of an infant. Moved by compassion, Ai gives him the name Makoto and brings him home to care for him. Beneath this fragile exterior, however, Makoto harbors extraordinary abilities. He possesses superhuman physical strength and an astonishing capacity to heal rapidly from any injury he sustains. Despite these remarkable traits, Makoto remains remarkably easygoing, entirely unbothered by the curiosity his presence inevitably sparks among those around him. This peaceful existence is abruptly shattered when a dangerous threat emerges. A cruel woman capable of disguising herself as a spider begins relentlessly pursuing Makoto. She is a neo sapiens dispatched by a shadowy organization known as "Love & Peace," operating under strict orders to retrieve the amnesiac boy—dead or alive. As this deadly operative closes in, the true nature of Makoto's origins becomes the central mystery, forcing those who have taken him in to confront a terrifying reality far beyond their understanding.
