The Dreaming Boy is a Realist

Wataru Sajou has long harbored a deep and unwavering affection for his beautiful classmate, Aika Natsukawa. Driven by hopeful dreams of mutual love, he continuously approaches her without ever letting rejection dampen his spirits. However, everything changes one morning when he wakes up with a sudden, sobering realization: he is simply not good enough to stand beside someone as remarkable as her. Acting on this newfound clarity, Wataru begins to maintain a polite and appropriate distance from Aika, completely altering the dynamic they once shared. Aika is left entirely bewildered by his abrupt shift in behavior. Instead of recognizing his self-doubt, she jumps to the distressing conclusion that he must have grown to hate her. Her growing impatience and misinterpretation of his intentions only drive them further apart, leaving both teenagers convinced that their feelings are painfully unrequited. What follows is a charming romantic comedy centered on two well-meaning individuals who desperately want to connect but continually fail to convey their true emotions to one another.
