KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World

Yukito was born as the heir to a cult leader, and his entire existence revolved around his unwavering devotion to Mitama, a mysterious goddess. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when a sacred ritual goes terribly wrong, resulting in his death. Instead of fading into oblivion, Yukito awakens to find himself reincarnated in a completely unfamiliar realm—a world where the very concept of divinity does not exist. In this new reality, faith holds no power, and the absolute authority over life and death rests entirely in the hands of the Imperial State. Stripped of his former religious foundation, Yukito must navigate a society governed by rigid secular control. When his newly adopted village faces imminent danger, he resolves to stand against the oppressive forces threatening its people, determined to protect those who have become important to him. As he struggles to defend his home in a godless land, Yukito discovers that he is not entirely alone in his fight. An unexpected ally from his previous life reaches out to offer crucial assistance, bridging the gap between his past devotion and his present battle for survival.
