Senpai wa Otokonoko: Deai-hen

Senpai wa Otokonoko: Deai-hen serves as a prelude to the main series, chronicling the formative events that set the stage for the overarching narrative. The story begins during a pivotal period in the lives of its central characters, focusing on Makoto before he ever started cross-dressing and following his childhood friend Ryuuji as they both transition into middle school. This era represents a time of innocence and change, capturing the quiet moments before their lives take unexpected turns. As the narrative unfolds, it delves deeply into how Makoto and those around him first confront and begin to understand their own sexuality during these crucial middle school years. The manga thoughtfully examines the emotional complexities and personal discoveries that define early adolescence, highlighting the internal struggles each character faces while navigating their emerging identities. By grounding the story in this earlier timeline, the manga creates a compelling contrast with the characters' later high school experiences. It provides essential context for the relationships and personal dilemmas explored in the main story, offering readers a richer understanding of who Makoto and Ryuuji were before the challenges of their youth fully shaped them.
