Urusei Yatsura (2022) Seasons 1 & 2

When an extraterrestrial race known as the Oni launches an invasion of Earth, humanity’s survival hinges on a single duel. The burden of representing the entire planet falls upon Ataru Moroboshi, a notoriously unlucky young man defined by his relentless womanizing. His opponent is Lum, the strikingly beautiful princess of the Oni. To determine the fate of the world, the two must compete in a high-stakes game of tag. Against all odds, Ataru manages to secure a victory, though his success relies entirely on underhanded tactics rather than genuine skill or fortune. Believing he has finally experienced a stroke of good luck, Ataru celebrates what he assumes is the end of his ordeal. However, the encounter leaves an unexpected impression on Lum, who quickly develops a strong affection for him outside the boundaries of their competition. Rather than returning to her people following the duel, she chooses to follow Ataru back to his everyday life. What begins as a global crisis swiftly transforms into a deeply personal dilemma for the young man. Lum not only establishes herself on Earth but also forcefully inserts herself into Ataru’s romantic pursuits. For a dedicated womanizer suddenly entangled with an alien princess, saving the world proves far simpler than reclaiming his freedom.
