Third-year high school student Jirou Yakuin dreams of being paired with his classmate Shiori Sakurazaka for the school’s mandatory "Couple Practical" course. This unique program requires students to live together with a partner of the opposite sex, demonstrating both domestic competence and interpersonal harmony under constant video surveillance that evaluates their performance. However, fate intervenes when the reserved Jirou is randomly assigned to Akari Watanabe, a vibrant gyaru who represents everything he is not. To make matters worse, Akari had hoped to be matched with her crush, Minami Tenjin, only to discover that both Shiori and Minami have been partnered together instead. Faced with this double disappointment, Jirou and Akari reluctantly agree to work as a team. Their shared goal is to rank within the top ten couples in the practical, which would grant them the right to exchange partners—provided both involved couples consent to the switch. As they strive to achieve the necessary scores, their forced cooperation leads to unexpected complications. In one hurried farewell, Jirou impulsively gives Akari a quick goodbye kiss, inadvertently taking her first kiss without fully realizing the weight of what he has just done.
