The Eminence in Shadow

Not everyone is destined to stand in the spotlight as a flamboyant hero or a theatrical villain. Some prefer to operate unseen, manipulating the world from behind the scenes through intellect and cunning. This is precisely the role Cid envisions for himself after being transported to another world. Rather than seeking glory, he dedicates his efforts to becoming the ultimate mastermind lurking in the shadows. To fulfill this ambition, Cid weaves an elaborate fiction, positioning himself as the mysterious leader of Shadow Garden, a clandestine organization he establishes to combat a sinister cult. He fabricates every detail of this threatening enemy purely as a backdrop for his personal power fantasy, never expecting his invented narrative to hold any real weight. However, reality quickly diverges from his imagination in ways he never anticipated. The menacing cult Cid entirely fabricated turns out to be very real, operating with genuine malice across the realm. Worse still, this authentic threat is far from amused by the sudden interference of Shadow Garden. Now, Cid must navigate a dangerous conflict where his fictional scenario has collided with actual evil forces who are determined to eliminate anyone standing in the way of their plans.
