Summary

Official Details
After returning from their research trip to Okinawa, Saitama University graduate students Shinya Yukimura and Ayame Himuro face a frustrating setback: they have failed to gather the empirical data required to scientifically validate their romantic feelings. Because the precise conditions of their excursion cannot be recreated, the two determined researchers pivot their methodology and seek expertise from the university’s Biological Sciences department. With guidance from Chris Floret and Suiu Fujiwara—fellow graduate students and an established couple—Yukimura and Himuro attempt to quantify their emotions by tracking oxytocin levels during various romantic scenarios. However, their biological readings pale in comparison to those produced by the experienced pair, casting doubt on the authenticity of their bond. Chris challenges them with a difficult question regarding what they will do if their measured affection ultimately fails to qualify as genuine love. Faced with this unsettling possibility, Yukimura becomes desperate to find a scientific explanation for the discrepancy, risking everything to demonstrate that his connection with Himuro is truly real.
