Darkness Before the Dawn

In the lawless sprawl of old Kowloon, a notorious criminal enclave in Hong Kong, Weijing maintains a quiet facade as the owner of a local pharmacy. Beneath this ordinary storefront, however, he operates a lucrative secondary trade, manufacturing illicit narcotics for the district’s powerful syndicates. His carefully controlled existence is disrupted when the local syndicate boss unceremoniously deposits an unidentified stranger under his supervision. With no explanation provided, Weijing finds himself bound to a man whose origins, true identity, and ultimate purpose remain entirely concealed behind a veil of absolute mystery. Forced into close proximity within the dangerous confines of the crime-ridden district, the two men navigate an uneasy coexistence defined by unanswered questions. Yet, as days turn into shared routines, their initial wariness gradually shifts. The persistent enigma surrounding the stranger sparks a deep curiosity in Weijing, while the pharmacist’s own guarded nature draws equal intrigue. As they spend more time together in the shadows of Kowloon, their mutual fascination slowly transcends mere suspicion, evolving into a profound and unexpected emotional connection that neither anticipated.
