Peak

Twenty-one-year-old Ryu Yeon-seong is preparing to begin his mandatory military service in the Republic of Korea Army. However, rather than being sent to a standard training camp, he and four other conscripts receive an unusual assignment. The young men are selected for the mountain police rescue unit stationed at Mount Bukhan, a modest peak located on the outskirts of Seoul. Knowing very little about the specific duties involved, the group views the posting as a stroke of incredible luck. They assume their time in uniform will be nothing more than a leisurely walk in the park, quietly celebrating what they believe to be an exceptionally easy tour of duty. That sense of relief vanishes the moment they arrive at the mountain. Far from the comfortable and undemanding experience they had envisioned, Ryu Yeon-seong and his fellow recruits quickly discover that the reality of the rescue unit is far more grueling than they ever anticipated. Stripped of their naive optimism, the five soldiers are thrust into a demanding environment where their physical limits and resolve will be tested daily. What began as a seemingly effortless military obligation rapidly transforms into an arduous trial, leaving the group to realize they have committed themselves to something far greater and more challenging than they ever bargained for.
