Dantalian no Shoka

Following the passing of his grandfather, Hugh Anthony Disward becomes the sole inheritor of a sprawling, antiquated mansion and its extensive personal library. Expecting nothing more than a quiet estate to manage, Hugh soon discovers that his inheritance carries far greater weight than he ever anticipated. Hidden away in the dim depths of the mansion's basement, he encounters a mysterious young girl named Dalian, whose presence forever alters his understanding of the world he has just inherited. Dalian is no ordinary child; she is a Dantalian, serving as the living gateway to an otherworldly archive known as "Dantalian's bookshelf." This forbidden repository safeguards a dangerous collection of demonic texts—prohibited books imbued with dark and unnatural power. By accepting the estate, Hugh has unwittingly assumed the role of her guardian and the keymaster to this perilous library. Now bound to Dalian and the secrets she protects, he must navigate the treacherous responsibilities of his new legacy, standing at the threshold between the mundane world and the hidden realm of forbidden knowledge.
