Tantei to Neko-chan

Kawasaki is a former police detective who has left his law enforcement career behind to operate his own private investigation agency. Accustomed to the structured world of policing, he now navigates the unpredictable nature of civilian casework. However, his carefully maintained professional life is thrown into disarray by the persistent presence of Okachimachi, an enigmatic and utterly incomprehensible young man whose motives remain impossible to decipher. Okachimachi seamlessly inserts himself into Kawasaki’s daily routine, blurring every conceivable boundary between ally and subject. At times, he appears as an uninvited assistant, offering his peculiar help on ongoing cases without ever being asked. At other moments, his suspicious behavior makes him the very target of Kawasaki’s investigations. This constant shifting between helpful companion and potential suspect keeps the seasoned detective perpetually off balance. Despite the confusion and frustration that Okachimachi inevitably brings into his life, Kawasaki finds himself facing an unexpected personal dilemma. Before he can fully process what is happening, the baffling young man has quietly crept past his defenses and taken root in his heart. What begins as a complicated professional entanglement gradually transforms into something far deeper, leaving the pragmatic investigator struggling to reconcile his logical mind with his growing affection for the one person he cannot figure out.
