Trial Friends

Ever since elementary school, Chie Suzuki abandoned any hope of forming friendships, choosing instead to navigate her daily life as a detached and elegant loner entirely absorbed in her own world. However, her carefully maintained solitude is now threatened by an unexpected , the school’s renowned "Ice Prince." Handsome and academically brilliant yet perpetually expressionless and aloof, Sato mirrors Suzuki's isolated persona so closely that she finds his presence genuinely irritating. She wants nothing to do with him, but her quiet routine shatters when he suddenly approaches her with a startling request—asking if she will be his friend. Beneath his icy exterior, Sato is not intentionally distant; he is simply a pure-hearted boy who has never figured out how to connect with those around him. Suzuki, convinced that friendship requires some kind of innate talent or special ability she lacks, immediately rejects his plea. Unwilling to give up, Sato offers a compromise that changes everything. Since neither truly understands the other, he proposes they try being friends on a strictly temporary basis, turning their shared isolation into an unlikely experiment in connection.
