Summary
Official Details
This manga is a compilation of four one-shot stories by acclaimed creator Masakazu Katsura, originally published in Weekly Shounen Jump between 1989 and 1995. The titular story, ZETMAN, follows twenty-three-year-old Jin Kurono, a game programmer who was raised by his mother to value honor and justice after the early death of his father. When his mother is tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident, the trauma leaves a deep scar on Jin's heart. Disillusioned by the lack of true justice in the real world, he channels his frustration into becoming Zetman, a vigilante superhero who fights crime using ruthless methods. Throughout his dark crusade, he relies on the guidance and emotional support of his steadfast friend, Sachiko Shirai. The collection also features three additional one-shots that showcase Katsura's range as a storyteller. Shin-no-Shin: Ai to Nikushimi no Time Slip explores themes of love and hatred intertwined with time travel. Woman in the Man centers on Tsuyomaru, an effeminate boy, and Hazumi, a tomboyish girl. When Tsuyomaru is challenged to a fight by a rival karate student, a malfunction in a training machine operated by Hazumi causes the two to unexpectedly switch bodies. Rounding out the volume is Shadow Lady, the original pilot chapter for Katsura's later series.
