Sweet Memory Konpeito

Sweet Memory Konpeito is a compelling anthology of one-shot stories united by a single magical premise: a specific brand of konpeito sugar candies grants its consumers the extraordinary ability to travel back in time. Each tale explores how this mysterious phenomenon profoundly alters the lives of those who experience it, offering characters unexpected chances to confront their pasts and reshape their emotional realities. In "Omoide Konpeitou," a talented track team star uses the candy's power to finally meet her greatest role model—the older brother she never had the opportunity to know. "Takeover Zone" follows a beautiful young woman reeling from a painful breakup who comes face-to-face with her former self, forcing a deeply personal reckoning. Meanwhile, "Samazama no Koto Omoi Dasu…" centers on a gifted saxophone prodigy who awakens to discover a teenage version of an elderly man she knows, leading her to perform alongside his youthful band. The collection concludes with "Punk Rock Mother Goose," a poignant story about a girl and her childhood friend who unexpectedly encounter the protagonist's mother, a woman who abandoned her family years ago to pursue her dreams performing in a rock band. Through these interconnected narratives, the anthology weaves a rich tapestry of regret, reconciliation, and the enduring desire to revisit the moments that define us.
