Natsume Yuujinchou: Ishi Okoshi to Ayashiki Raihousha

In the first story, "Ishi Okoshi," Natsume encounters a diminutive youkai named Mitsumi while wandering through a quiet forest. This small spirit has been entrusted with an important and daunting responsibility: awakening the divine youkai Iwatetsu from a deep, prolonged slumber. Deeply moved by Mitsumi's earnest dedication and unable to shake the encounter from his thoughts, Natsume resolves to assist the little creature in completing this sacred task. The second tale, "Ayashiki Raihousha," centers on Natsume's close friend, Tanuma, who begins receiving visits from an enigmatic stranger. Nearly every day, this mysterious figure appears, engages Tanuma in brief conversation, and quietly departs. Recognizing the visitor as a youkai, Natsume grows increasingly anxious about his friend's safety. However, Tanuma finds genuine comfort in their daily exchanges and welcomes the companionship. Although the spirit harbors no malicious intent, its supernatural presence exacts an unseen toll, and Tanuma's health gradually begins to deteriorate, leaving Natsume caught between respecting his friend's happiness and protecting him from harm.
