Josee, the Tiger and the Fish

The story of Josee, the Tiger and the Fish centers on the evolving relationship between two individuals from vastly different walks of life. Tsuneo is a dedicated university student navigating the ordinary routines of his academic journey. His path unexpectedly crosses with that of Josee, a young woman whose world has been largely confined to the walls of her home. Because she is unable to walk, Josee rarely ventures outside by herself, living a sheltered existence far removed from the bustling everyday life that surrounds her. Their fateful encounter occurs during the quiet hours of the morning. While going about his day, Tsuneo happens upon Josee’s grandmother taking the young woman out for a routine morning walk. This chance meeting bridges the gap between Tsuneo's independent lifestyle and Josee's restricted reality, sparking a connection that forms the emotional core of the narrative. As their lives begin to intertwine, the film explores the delicate dynamics of their bond, highlighting how an unexpected introduction can profoundly alter the perspectives of both a driven student and a girl who has spent most of her life looking at the world from behind closed doors.
