Awajishima no Shichifukujin

Set against the backdrop of Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, this animated short series offers a comedic reimagining of the Seven Gods of Fortune from Japanese mythology. The story begins when the divine figures grow complacent and neglect their heavenly responsibilities. Outraged by their laziness, the deity Susanoo-no-Mikoto banishes them to the mortal world. Stripped of their celestial status, the exiled gods are given a single path back to the heavens: they must actively bring happiness to humanity and rebuild their lost virtue. To track their progress, each god is equipped with a "god phone" that accumulates points whenever they successfully grant a human wish. Eager to return home, they strategically time their good deeds to coincide with highly auspicious days, hoping to maximize their point gains. However, their efforts frequently go awry. Despite their best intentions, the reluctant deities often end up causing misfortune instead of joy. Whenever they fail, points are deducted from their devices, forcing the bumbling Seven Gods of Fortune to extend their frustrating stay on Awaji Island as they struggle to master the art of doing good.
