Miku Ikenouchi’s friends are convinced she is living out the pages of a shoujo manga. Between dating an older third-year student, holding down a steady part-time job, and enjoying a quiet household, they tease that she is thriving in the spring of her youth. Miku herself remains somewhat doubtful of this romanticized view, though she cannot deny a certain sense of comfort in her daily routine. In fact, her life has grown so stable that she occasionally wonders if she might be a little too content. That fleeting question is quickly answered when her ordinary world turns upside down. Returning home one day, Miku discovers that her father has abruptly resigned from his job, and her parents have decided to convert their family residence into a boarding house. To make matters worse, one of their new tenants happens to be a male classmate from her school. Suddenly, the tranquil existence Miku took for granted vanishes entirely, leaving her peaceful days as nothing more than a distant memory.
