The House Spirit Tatami-chan

Billed as a pleasant horror gag comedy, this ONA follows the everyday misadventures of Tatami-chan, a sardonic ghost originally from Iwate Prefecture. Having relocated to the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, she now finds herself navigating a crowded urban landscape shared by humans, spirits, and various other supernatural entities. Her sharp wit and cynical outlook color every interaction in this strange, blended society where the mundane and the otherworldly constantly collide. Despite being a resident phantom, Tatami-chan is far removed from any terrifying spectral existence. Instead, she faces the remarkably grounded struggles of an unemployed young adult trying to survive in a major city. Alongside managing bizarre encounters with fellow ghosts and handling unpredictable supernatural affairs, she must grapple with the relentless pressures of modern life. Job hunting proves to be just as daunting for a spirit as it is for anyone else, especially when basic survival expenses loom overhead. The constant need to cover utility bills for gas, water, and electricity ensures that her afterlife remains unexpectedly stressful, blending genuine comedic charm with the relatable anxieties of adulthood.
