In the first year of the New Imperial Calendar, Reinhard ascended the throne and established the Löwenklam dynasty. Half a month later, the imperial capital was shaken by the "Churmel Incident," an assassination attempt on Reinhard that stunned the world. Once the motives behind the plot came to light, the young emperor issued an edict without hesitation, ordering the conquest of Earth. Meanwhile, Yang Wen-li, now retired and newly married, was finally living the peaceful life he had long desired—yet the constant surveillance of Imperial Affairs Officer Rene Kemp cast a shadow over his and his wife's happiness. Kemp, a narrow-minded puppet of the Alliance, ordered Yang Wen-li taken into custody. But encouraged by Cobb, Attenborough, and others, the so-called "Yang Rebel Group" turned the tables, took Kemp hostage, and fled Heinessen—setting out on the road to the end of the world.
