In the twenty-first century, a long-concealed truth finally emerges from the shadows of history: animal-humans have existed alongside humanity all along. Michiru, an ordinary girl who has lived her entire life as a human, finds her world upended when she inexplicably transforms into a tanuki-human. Fleeing the confusion and fear of her sudden change, she seeks sanctuary in Anima City, a unique metropolis established a decade earlier as a haven where animal-humans can live freely and embrace their true natures. Within this vibrant refuge, Michiru crosses paths with Shirou, a wolf-human harboring a deep-seated disdain for mankind. Despite his hostility, Shirou becomes her unlikely guide, introducing her to the daily struggles, rich culture, and quiet joys that define the animal-human experience. As they delve deeper into the mystery behind Michiru’s abrupt transformation, their investigation inadvertently entangles them in a far-reaching incident that threatens everything they have come to understand about their coexisting worlds.
