Twenty-year-old Kinoshita Rinko has just lost her job. Still in her probationary period, she chose to shoulder the blame for a colleague's mistake, resulting in her immediate dismissal. Her motivation was rooted in a deeply personal philosophy: she knows firsthand how devastating it is to weep alone with no one willing to offer a helping hand. While making her way home after being let go, Rinko encounters a beautiful woman weeping by herself. True to her nature, Rinko finds it impossible to simply walk away and leave the stranger in distress. When Rinko explains why she took the fall for her coworker, the crying woman is profoundly moved by her selfless reasoning. Trusting Rinko’s compassionate heart, the woman makes an unexpected request. She asks Rinko to step into her place and protect her brother, Shinomiya Ryou. Bound by her inability to abandon those who suffer, Rinko accepts the plea, setting her on a new and uncertain path.
