Fatale Game

"If it means that I can read your work again, I'll even chase you to the ends of the earth." Seri Tainaka, who writes under the pen name Nanakusa, is a mid-career manga artist struggling under the weight of her lone one-hit wonder. Although her breakout series, "To Hell and Back," captured the adoration of fans, her success stalled right there despite a decade in the industry. Consequently, learning she has been assigned a new editor only intensifies her deep-seated insecurities. Upon meeting her eccentric new editor, Sumire Futami, Seri experiences a turbulent mix of unease and fascination toward the brazen, unorthodox woman. Futami boldly declares she would go to hell and back to restore Seri to her former glory. Just as Seri begins to believe they are forming an unstoppable creative partnership, she discovers the other manga artists under Futami's supervision. This revelation sparks a hazardous psychological battle fueled by jealousy, envy, and deadly feminine charm. It quickly becomes evident that Futami readily shifts her attention between creators, treating her favor as a revolving prize. Desperate to secure the coveted top position in their fickle editor's heart, the competing artists are prepared to stop at nothing.
