The Tiger and Me

Left stranded in the freezing wilderness of Mount Baekdu, Cheong-gyeong faces certain death until he is rescued by Baek Beom, the powerful tiger spirit who reigns over the mountain. According to the laws governing the supernatural realm, any human who witnesses its secrets must have their memories erased before being returned to the mortal world. Yet, when the time comes to wipe Cheong-gyeong’s mind and send him away, Baek Beom finds himself unexpectedly unable to let the young man go. Instead of parting ways immediately, the two spend an entire season together on the secluded peak, forging a quiet but profound bond far removed from ordinary human life. Eventually, duty demands what affection cannot delay. Baek Beom is forced to erase Cheong-gyeong’s memories of their time together, returning him to his everyday existence among humanity with no recollection of the mountain spirit who saved him. Their story appears to reach its natural conclusion, leaving Cheong-gyeong to resume his mundane routine. However, this farewell may only mark the beginning of something greater. As Cheong-gyeong navigates his seemingly normal life, he encounters a mysterious figure who feels inexplicably familiar, hinting that the connection forged on Mount Baekdu was never truly severed.
