Illusion

For a decade, Hong Su-Rim has lived in forced seclusion, kept hidden by the influential Baek family over suspicions that he is Illishine—a legendary figure prophesied to deliver either salvation or ruin to their bloodline. On his twentieth birthday, the long-awaited mark of Illishine finally manifests on his skin, sealing his fate. Thrust into the Baek household’s unforgiving world, Su-Rim is placed under the strict authority of Baek Woo-Kyeong, the calculating and emotionally distant son of the family patriarch. Hardened by years of isolation, Su-Rim harbors no faith in love or loyalty; his only goal is to manipulate Woo-Kyeong as a means of survival and reclaiming agency over his own life. Yet his carefully constructed plans begin to unravel. Initially indifferent and guarded, Woo-Kyeong finds himself unexpectedly captivated by Su-Rim’s quiet resilience and concealed vulnerability. As they navigate treacherous family politics, an ancient supernatural legacy, and an undeniable mutual attraction, their destinies intertwine far beyond what either anticipated. Whether Su-Rim is truly the Baek clan’s cursed savior or merely a pawn in a perilous game of prophecy remains uncertain. In a reality where nothing is as it appears, they must discover if their connection can transcend the illusions surrounding them.
