When You Play the Last Chord

Hisashi Kunomiya arrives at a deserted hotel in the dead of night, driven by a quiet and absolute despair. Having resolved to take his own life, he slips into the decaying building at midnight, seeking an isolated place where his final moments will pass entirely unnoticed. The silence of the abandoned structure feels like a fitting end, heavy and undisturbed, wrapping around him as he prepares to carry out his irreversible decision. Yet just as the stillness threatens to swallow him completely, an unexpected sound fractures the dark. The faint, resonant strumming of a guitar drifts through the empty corridors, pulling Hisashi from the edge of his resolve. Drawn by the solitary melody, he follows the music deeper into the shadows of the ruined hotel. There, hidden within the pitch-black interior, he discovers a girl playing her instrument entirely alone. Her presence and her music disrupt the finality he had sought, forcing an unforeseen encounter that challenges the very reason he came to this forgotten place.
