Tokonome Mamori finds her life upended when she is abruptly transferred to Mermaid, a secretive artificial island designed as a quarantine zone for individuals possessing extraordinary superpowers. Isolated from the outside world and thrust into an unfamiliar environment, Mamori struggles to navigate the dangers of her new surroundings. Salvation arrives in the form of Mirei, another newly transferred girl who intervenes just in time to shield Mamori from harm. However, their attackers prove relentless, pressing the assault until both girls are driven into a desperate corner with no apparent means of escape. As all hope seems to fade, Mirei makes a startling move—she kisses Mamori. In that instant, Mamori undergoes a miraculous transformation, her very body reshaping into a powerful sword.
