Shachou no Keiyaku Konyakusha

For Tara Palmer, a position seeking a fiancée without the expectation of love feels like the perfect opportunity. Unburdened by romantic demands, she answers an advertisement to serve as the pretend partner of Cole Charteris, a man who has spent his life avoiding commitment. To Cole, marriage was never even a consideration until Tara stepped forward, offering a practical solution to his complicated circumstances through a strictly contractual arrangement. However, their agreement is built on a fragile and dangerous foundation. Rather than genuine affection, the bond holding them together relies entirely on blackmail, forcing both Tara and Cole into the roles of a devoted couple while concealing the dark leverage that binds them. As they navigate the charade of romance, the pressure of their hidden coercion threatens to unravel everything they have constructed. Playing the part of loving partners becomes increasingly difficult when the relationship is rooted in manipulation rather than trust. The central question looms over them: will the blackmail that initially brought them together ultimately tear them apart forever? Based on "No Sex Necessary" by Jane Beckenham, this story explores whether a partnership born from coercion can ever transform into something lasting, or if it is destined to end in ruin.
