A few days after Kagato's defeat, life settles back into its usual rhythm. Ryoko comes across Mihoshi and Sasami reading shōjo manga, and Sasami explains that the stories serve as guides on how to win a boy's heart—Earth-style. Intrigued, Ryoko decides to put the manga's romantic tactics to the test in her pursuit of Tenchi. When Ayeka catches wind of her plan, she too begins using the same manga as a reference to compete for Tenchi's affections.
