The Swan Robe

Civil engineering student and avid bridge enthusiast Youichi frees a swan trapped on the scaffolding of an unfinished bridge, only to be visited that night by a striking woman named Miwa, who insists she is the very bird he rescued. She moves in with Youichi to repay her perceived debt, though he remains, quite reasonably, deeply unconvinced by her story. Still, Youichi is hardly the type to question a gift swan’s beak—and more importantly, he would never abandon a woman in distress—so matters soon progress in a fairly familiar direction. Then again, perhaps not quite as familiar as you might expect.
