Summary

Official Details
The Onmyou Taisenki manga presents a storyline distinct from its anime adaptation, set several years prior to the events of the television series. The protagonist, Yakumo, is the son of Monju, the chief priest of Taihaku Shrine. Held captive within this shrine is Mahoroba, Monju's former teacher, whose escape triggers the central conflict. After breaking free, Mahoroba amasses great power and petrifies Monju, setting Yakumo on a perilous journey. The narrative follows Yakumo as he takes his first steps in commanding a Shikigami, undergoes rigorous training under Izuna—the shrine's resident miko—and relentlessly tracks Mahoroba across pivotal moments in Japanese history. Throughout his quest, the manga weaves in appearances from legendary historical figures, including the likes of Oda Nobunaga.
