Historié

Set in ancient Greece, *Historié* chronicles the early life of Eumenes, who grows up to become both secretary and general to Alexander the Great. The manga’s creator, Hitoshi Iwaaki, is known for extensively revising the artwork for collected volume editions and occasionally merging shorter installments into longer chapters. As a result, the chapter numbering in the magazine serialization differs from that of the compiled volumes—for instance, on digital platforms, Chapter 108 directly follows Chapter 97. The series has received widespread critical acclaim, earning the Grand Prize at the 14th Japan Media Arts Festival and the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize’s Grand Prize in 2012.
