Supermen of Class 7

Class 7 of Mingde High School is known throughout the school as the “bastard class.” It is home to teenagers who skip class, get into fights, struggle with depression, or have simply been cast aside—no one expects any of them to go to college. But this year, six of them awaken what is called “mental imagery”: superpowers that are the outward manifestation of their scars. Chen Mo, who has lost his voice, can hear everyone’s emotions but cannot make a sound. Lin Xiaoman, haunted by the death of her best friend, can turn back time, but each use forces her to relive the pain. Zhou Ye, who grew up in a home marked by violence, is invulnerable, but as a result can never feel a hug. Su Tang, who has always lived up to others’ expectations, can imitate anyone perfectly, but cannot reflect herself. Zheng Daqian, abandoned as a child, carries a different space inside him—one that can never be filled. And there is one who, cursed by his own wish, finds that blessings never come true, while every curse does. The new homeroom teacher, Gu Yuan, takes over the class with his own private motives. He discovers that the classroom itself is a strange “node,” one that amplifies the obsessions of people the world has ignored. The point is not that these so-called superhumans have no weaknesses, but that they keep moving forward despite them. A group of broken teenagers become band-aids for one another—redemption is never about one person getting better, but about a group of scarred people finally seeing each other.
