Nine

At their new high school, track star Niimi Katsuya and his closest friend, judo ace Karasawa Susumu, are both drawn to a beautiful girl named Nakao Yuri. When they discover she is the daughter of the baseball team's coach, they promptly sign up for the struggling club in hopes of getting closer to her. Yet as they immerse themselves in the sport, their initial motives evolve—they gradually come to grasp the true significance of being part of the nine players on the diamond, and begin to set their sights on the dream of reaching Koshien.
