Another Kingdom

Since childhood, Hatsuse Nanao has struggled to form friendships, cursed with the ability to see ghosts and demons invisible to everyone else. She had hoped that entering high school would offer a fresh start among new classmates, but the rumors about her soon began circulating there as well. Overwhelmed by the stares and whispers, she pretends to be ill and skips school for a few days. During one of those afternoons at the park, she encounters a strange little boy who knows her name and insists on spending the day with her. As Nanao tries to uncover his identity, she is found by Yatou Kaname, her class representative, who offers them a place to stay for the night. Who is this mysterious boy, and why does Yatou harbor such a fierce aversion to the very idea of spirits and demons? Nanao will find the answers buried not only in her own past, but in Yatou’s as well.
