Teiichi no Kuni

Akaba Teiichi is starting his education at a prestigious private boys' high school, an institution historically celebrated for training distinguished naval officers and now known for cultivating influential politicians and bureaucrats. Recognizing that networking begins immediately upon enrollment, Teiichi has set his sights on becoming student council president, viewing the role as a vital stepping stone into national politics. He has carefully curated a flawless public image while remaining fully aware of the darker realities of political maneuvering, and he does not pursue this ambition alone. His father, currently a prominent bureaucrat whose own career was stunted by losing the student council presidency during his youth, is committed to ensuring his son s쳮ds where he failed. Strategically, Teiichi relies on Koumei, his loyal best friend and trusted second-in-command, while drawing emotional strength from his mother, younger sister, and girlfriend, Mimiko. However, Teiichi’s calculated path faces an unforeseen challenge in Kurosaka Reiko, an idealistic new teacher determined to dismantle the school’s entrenched political corruption. As her opening move, she champions Otaka Dan, a brilliant and popular student from a non-elite background who lacks the traditional pedigree of the feeder middle schools, thrusting him into the political arena. The central conflict emerges as Teiichi attempts to navigate and exploit the established system to secure his future, even as Kurosaka works tirelessly to overturn the status quo and redefine the school's political landscape.
