Summary

Official Details
Created by Rumiko Takahashi, Maison Ikkoku is a romantic comedy that chronicles the evolving relationship between Kyoko Otonashi and Yusaku Godai. Kyoko, a young widow, takes up residence as the manager of the Ikkoku-kan apartment building, where she meets Godai, a ronin diligently preparing for his university entrance exams. While Godai falls for her immediately, their path to romance is far from straightforward. The couple’s daily life is constantly influenced by the building’s eccentric tenants, including the enigmatic Yotsuya, the frequently intoxicated Mrs. Ichinose, and the bold Akemi, who observe and occasionally intervene in their affairs. Romantic complications further arise as the affluent tennis coach Shun Mitaka pursues Kyoko, while Godai finds himself the object of affection for both Nanao Kozue and Ibuki Yagami. Spanning 96 episodes, the series masterfully balances humor and poignant emotion, making it a deeply rewarding watch.
