Reborn in 1989: Leading the Female Special Forces

Zhao Gu, a second-generation military officer serving his second enlistment, finds himself thrust back into 1989 during a high-level military conference. As the top brass discuss forming China's first special operations unit to catch up with global standards, Zhao Gu steps up with a bolder vision: simultaneously creating the world's first female special forces unit. Bound by a military pledge, he is handed a roster of the most notorious troublemakers and eccentrics from across the armed forces—ranging from a fighting champion with a record of violent infractions to a brilliant Peking University dropout, defiant military brats, sharpshooters, and volatile demolition experts. With the entire military watching and waiting for disaster, skeptics scoff at the pairing of a lackluster commander and a squad of unruly women. However, Zhao Gu unleashes a relentless regimen of brutal, unconventional training, putting the rebellious female soldiers through grueling trials of Close Quarters Battle, combat swimming, wilderness survival, and extreme counter-encirclement tactics. Pushed to their absolute limits, the fierce recruits transition from cursing their commander's name to adopting elite combat mastery. When a joint international exercise arrives, this once-patchwork unit shocks the global military establishment, laying bare what happens when relentless elite training meets unstoppable feminine grit.
