Seijou Kouchakan no Jijou

Shino enlists his best friend Akira to help him win the heart of Maruyama, the girl of his dreams. However, the plan backfires when Akira ends up stealing her for himself. Heartbroken, Shino seeks solace at a black tea shop owned by a man named Shuuji, where he attempts to drown his sorrows in cake. Shuuji is currently dealing with a peculiar reconciliation attempt from an estranged acquaintance known only as “that guy.” This individual insists on sending mysterious, unmarked packages of randomly selected tea as a peace offering. Given the sender’s history of dangerous gifts, Shuuji offers the latest brew to Shino for free, using him as an unwitting test subject to check for poison. Instead of toxins, the tea contains a genie who promptly grants Shino’s wish to be with Maruyama. But as the old saying goes, one must be careful what they wish for.
