Becoming a Devil Since the Civil War

Mo Shen was already dead, yet he was reborn in the void of darkness. When he opened his eyes, he found himself in the land of America in 1860—on the eve of the Civil War, with slavery and abolitionism locked in fierce confrontation, and Native Americans struggling for survival on the frontiers. But Mo Shen descends upon the mortal world in the name of a god. Soon, wendigos roar across the wilderness, the Cult of the Great Roll haunts the high seas, vampires stalk beneath the moonlight. Myths invade reality, the supernatural tramples the mundane, and all of America is thrown into chaos. Abraham Lincoln stands atop the White House, battle-axe in hand, overlooking the heroes of the age: "All my life, I have never needed to explain myself to the South. Even if I must bear the weight of America on one shoulder and hold Washington D.C. in the other hand, I, Lincoln, remain invincible!" Jefferson Davis points his sword northward: "Wherever the Southern flag flies today, that is my dominion! Even if we fight to the last soldier, the Confederacy shall never perish! Lincoln, destiny is not on your side!"
